Visuals will be added soon!
Komainus
serve as guardians for powerful temples and shrines. Most of them are said to be male. Their body is made out of stone, and sometimes, small markings are painted on them. They have a similar apperance to Foolings, but are much bigger as them, and their body anatomy is slightly sturdier than that of a Fooling.
Male Komainus are the fathers of Foolings.
komainus are NOT a closed species due to the fact that these resemble/are shishi dogs or fu dogs. so yes, you are free to make your own! However, a Komainu can't accept a Sprite's contract. read more below.
Other deities
Deities can have the forms of any animal, hybrid or human. The only reason why dragon deities got a special column is because they play an essential part in the Fooling's world. Other popular deity forms are Tigers, Apes, Rabbits and they alike.
One is only considered to be a deity of they have a shrine and at least one protector (=Fooling).
A deity without a shrine is considered to be a Sprite.
To own a Deity, you must own a Fooling first. Read more about them below!

Sprites
are the base form of deities. Sprites are able to speak the human language, but can't grant wishes. Also, Sprites are NOT able to change to their human or alternate forms. Sprites without a shrine/protector are often found with a blank sheet of paper covering their face. That is, because Demons tend to attack and eat deities and spirits without protection.
You are free to create your own Sprite! You don't even have to own a Fooling!
But remember, they face is covered by a blank sheet of paper. They are not allowed to reveal their face and therefore their identity. As soon as you obtain a Fooling and decide to make him your shrine's guardian, you may upgrade your Sprite to a Deity.
Komainus are also not able to upgrade your Sprite, because those are only allowed to serve as town, village and gate guardians, or to serve in the Circle.

One may not be able to see them with their bare eyes, but the chiming sound of a bell will tell you that you are protected.
Those are NPC, meaning that they can't be owned or bought.
